Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely grated

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/2 cup beef broth

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and brown sugar. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

Cook the Broccoli: In a large pan or wok, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and heat over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender. Remove the broccoli from the pan and set aside.

Sauté Aromatics: In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed, then add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Cook the Beef: Add the marinated beef to the pan in a single layer. Let it sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until it’s browned and cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan; you may need to do this in batches.

Combine: Once the beef is cooked, return the broccoli to the pan. Pour in the beef broth and add salt, pepper, and sesame oil if using. Stir everything together and allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes, letting the sauce thicken slightly.

Serve: Transfer the beef and broccoli to serving plates over a bed of cooked rice. Garnish with chopped green onions.
