Fudgy Chocolate Brownie Cookies represent a unique concept in the realm of desserts. Unlike traditional cookies, which often have a lighter, more cake-like texture, these brownie cookies are dense and chewy, reminiscent of the best brownies you've ever tasted. The fudgy nature of these cookies is achieved through a careful balance of ingredients that create a moist, rich interior, while still allowing for a slight crispness on the outer edges.

Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Extra chocolate chips for topping (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined and smooth.

Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Press a few extra chocolate chips on top of each cookie for decoration if desired.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges feel set but the centers still look slightly underbaked for that fudgy texture.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
